Rancho Capistrano Winery and Restaurant

The patio is great for hanging out, have wine and enjoy live music. Nice crowd and cozy atmosphere. Their wines are good. Liked the dorado the best (blend). Also had their seafood risotto and really enjoyed it.

This is wine made by true wine afficinados. They are some very deep and wonderful reds here. I'm sure the whites are great as well, but I did not try. We did not try the restaurant, but the food and patio looked amazing.

My family took my mother there for her 80th birthday and it couldn't have been nicer! We sat outside. The outdoor patio is beautiful, with a gorgeous fireplace and couches. Just a really nice setting. And the food was wonderful. Definitely one of my new favorite places to go.

Had a wonderful time here. The patio is relaxing and warmly lit, the food is consistently good and the service attentive. Loved doing the wine bottling class; will be back to do it again and would recommend for groups.

Atmosphere was great. Very pretty patio with live music. Service was a tad slow but the server was very nice. Food was very good. I enjoyed the chicken & waffles.

Pizza tasted like a cardboard...Cobb salad was disappointing...

While they've had their ups and downs in regards to customer service in the front of house, for the most part it's a nice place to chill, listen to a singer (some nights) and enjoy a glass of wine and a meal. With so many varieties of wine I am sure there something to satisfy everyone's palette.

Food was great. The menu was slightly overpriced. The wait staff seemed a bit too busy to respond to our requests immediately

The atmosphere was great. Food was absolutely amazing! One of the best melas I have ever had. We do fine dining all over the world. Lots of great wine to choose from. Will definitely return. Servers were very friendly and quick. Priced very fair.

Great beer place could use some updates and ambiance

We had a really nice lunch this afternoon at Rancho Capistrano Winery. I loved their Rose' wine, I even bought a bottle to take home. The food was great and so was the live music. I recommend visiting!

Horrible service! The hostesses up front are clueless. They do know how to manage the front. Inside, waiters are short staffed there fore anticipate long wait. Food is good. I am local and been there few times.

Upscale, clean, close to other wonders. The food was wonderful, good portion, the wine was very nice.

Great patio with live music. Excellent service. Had the ahi stak then bacon, jalapeno pizza. Top notch. Only issue is we waiting for table wen lots were open, maybe under staffed? Best in the area

Great place to have a glass of wine in the heard of San Juan Capistrano, service is ok during busy time it is hard to place an order or pre-order. Most of the wines, as the server informed us, are stainless steel fermented wines with "powder" added to get the desired flavor results. Our wine was 'oaky' a d we did question the only "stainless steel" barrel fermentation, we once again were told that "oak" powder created that beautiful oak flavor. You decide if this is what you like to enjoy.(😉)

Stopped in here for dinner with friends. Busy Saturday night but we scored a table. I want crazy hungry so ordered the cod fish tacos, the fish was good but needed some more sauce or something on the taco. GF had the chicken and risotto, had a taste and i thought it was delicious. Had great choices of wine, but in a beer drinker, the beer i had was cold and delicious. Will return for a drink and dinner again.

I was here Saturday April 8th 2017 i attend a birthday party with my girlfriend's family I was plesently surprised the food was delicious everything was absolutely amazing down to the last bite we started off with the chicken bbq flat bread that was tasted great I personally had the cheese burger with bacon dispite no pickles it was a great Burger finger licking good until the last bite and lastly my girlfriend and I split a cheese cake for dessert probably one of the best I've ever had overall experience was exquisitedeffently coming back soon ps staff was awesome

I came here the other day with a friend, and I thought the style, decoration, and the outside area were beautiful! I ordered the chicken pesto pasta, and I absolutely loved it. Might possibly be the best pasta I've ever had. I enjoyed my experience here, and cannot wait to come again.

Good Mexican ambience. Mist of it has outdoor seating with heaters. Food is nicely cooked and service is good too.

Good wines and good service. The food was great and they have a nice outside patio with live music. We sat at the bar and did wine tasting, then moved to patio, had lunch and a bottle of wine. It was. Great spot to relax and enjoy the Sunday.

Patio is lovely, but overall our food was poor and the service mediocre. Chicken dish was so dry it was nearly inedible. Steak dish was overcooked and tough. Best dish on the table was my son's mac and cheese. They wouldn't make any food accommodations. My husband was told they couldn't do his dish with no mushrooms and I was told they dont split plates when my 85 year old grandfather wanted to share a dish. I was told i could split it myself. I could see this happening at a casual dining place, but when your average plate is $40 I expect reasonable accommodations. We will not be back.

Saw San Juan Capistrano in a totally new way!!!! Had a great dinner at Capistrano Winery Restaurant!! And The Old Historical Capistrano. Saw very interesting plant! Never saw one like it!! It was a great day!!

Loved this place!! Wine was fantastic too. Table got lots of apps which everyone one loved. They even took extra care taking my celiac friendly order. A+ will definitely be back next time.

My wife and i absolutely love Rancho Capistrano Winery. The staff is super friendly and the wines are incredible. It’s also got a great vibe and something for everyone. DID I MENTION THE FOOD! Wow. From the Siracha fries to the delicious flatbreads, you can’t go wrong. If you have not visited, you are doing yourself a disservice. Go today.

Great outdoor space, perfect for groups or parties. It's a restaurant. They do no wine making on the premises. They do offer their own wine brand... which is not very good, unfortunately. The menu is large, everyone in our group could easily find something great to eat along with a limited selection of wine and bubbles.

Good food, the happy hour specials are worth dropping for.

I had my rehearsal dinner here and was blown away. Service was great, food was exceptional, and we really enjoyed the live music outside. SHOUTOUT to my great server who really went above and beyond!

Atmosphere, service, food - all aces! The wait staff were all so warm and friendly - felt like i was in my living room w the fireplace patio and thankfully I was able to eat Mac and cheese (gluten free) so grateful! Food was delicious!

Very nice bar to have wine and a snack. The menu is delicious and place has a romantc vibe. Good service.

Directly across the street from the train station, you have the ability to ride the train down, stop at this wine bar, drink several, fantastic bottles of wine, and return to where you left on the train. No need to work about driving! If you decide to drive, there is a decent parking garage directly across the street, but expect it to be a fight for a space. This bar is worth the stop, beautiful wooden tables, large courtyard and am incredible bar. Worthy of the stop, perfect place to have a date or night cap.

I feel the wines here are made very well. I had the 15$ tasting and bartender hooked it up with the awesome suggestions. I want to come back even if it's just for the food.

I always stop in to Rancho Capistrano Winery when I'm in the area. The wine selection is great. The staff is always friendly. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the wine if you have questions. I've yet to try the food but everyone else seems to like it. The vibe here is more trendy and modern than Five Vines across the street but they're both good options to get a drink.

last night was the first time we visited this place. But It is absolutely not the last time. We passed a splendid evening with the courteous service, with the first-rate food and wine and with the honest price. We will definitely go back there again.

Nice atmosphere, good location. Great patio. Food is good. Have both beer wine. Good place for a date. There is music out on the patio at nights but hard to talk if you are too close. Beers are as expensive as wine which I found unusual.
